Selections: the Nebbiolo of Deltetto, Poderi Colla, Early
Enoteca Cremona has selected for you, 3 Nebbiolo from three different areas of Piedmont: Deltetto from the Roero area, Poderi Colla from the Alba area, Principiano from the Serralunga area. Three different styles, three different sotrie that tell in a personal way one of the most famous grape varieties of our wine history.
Roero of Deltetto it is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in Santo Stefano Roero, in the historic vineyard inherited from grandfather Aldo. "Sister" area of the Langhe, from more direct and less demanding wines with great perfumed and savory taste / olfactory notes. Gorrini is a cru, grapes that come from a single vineyard, where the harvest takes place in late September; after pressing the grapes macerate with their skins for 10 days on its own yeasts. The aging period takes place in oak barrels for 18 months with a consequent period of refinement in the bottle before being placed on the market. In the glass it is not intense “light” ruby red with light garnet reflections; the nose is expressed with a complex floral and fruity sensation of blackberry, raspberries, and light spicy aromas. On the palate it is medium-bodied, direct and fresh at the entrance with elegant and velvety tannins, with a pleasantly velvety finish. Interesting Nebbiolo, of a different setting than those of the Langhe, where a very pleasant prevails, but not at all obvious, ease and immediacy in the glass.
Nebbiolo “Cascine Drago” of Poderi Colla On the "Bricco del Drago", very particular hill owned by the family, Nebbiolo is grown which will then be vinified to produce this red. The terrain of this hill is totally different from those of the area: it is composed of sand, tuff and rocks in a totally non-homogeneous way from the top to the valley, and the microclimate created by the wind make these vineyards give these grapes an incredible complexity and structure. E’ a wine that is presented in the glass of a beautiful ruby red, access; the nose is expressed with notes of wild berries and cherries. On the palate it has soft tannins, long-lived with a good final acidity that suggests that this is a wine with a long aging.
Nebbiolo 2019 Early is produced from a small vineyard of 40 years that is located in "Le Coste" in Monforte d’Alba at about 350 meters of altitude. At the base of the processing there is a maniacal selection of grapes which are then fermented in steel on their own yeasts and always refined in steel for further 10 months. In the glass it is ruby red and on the nose it expresses a vinous and fragrant bouquet of wild berries and floral like violet. On the palate it is fresh, young…it could be defined lively. E’ however elegant and rich with a very light and pleasant balsamic sensation at the end. Drink inviting, fine, fresh and balanced that tells us well the territory and the traditions from which it comes.
