PINOT NERO TRATTMAN 2018
The. Agr. CANTINA GIRLAN
The first time the word GIRLAN / Cornaiano is mentioned is the distant 1085: is the name of the ancient wine village whose vineyards extend to an altitude between 250 ed i 550 meters. At the beginning, in 1923, the winemakers who joined together to found this winery were 23. Today they have become 200 and are located on 220 hectares and in this way, this "extended family" owns and vinifies the best vineyards of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. To the north, the Alps protect these predominantly sandy and clayey and mineral-rich soils, creating the ideal climatic conditions for growing vines. The opening towards the wide Val d’Adige to the south favors the favorable influence of the Mediterranean climate. The strong temperature variations between day and night, especially in the fall, instead they give the wine a marked and elegant aroma and great shelf life. Mazzon, Cornaiano, Gschleier, Appiano Monte and Monticolo are the areas from which their fantastic grapes come: the winemaker is first of all a winemaker.
Pinot Noir Trattman is a great South Tyrolean red that has led the company to be mentioned by leading sommeliers and to be placed at the top in the Italian sector guides. It is mainly vinified with grapes from the farm TREATMENT, on the slopes of the Mazzon vineyard, and in a very small part from grapes coming from the Pinzon area. MAZZON: 10 hectares of vineyards considered one of the best habitats for this vine thanks to soils with a high mineral content such as clay and limestone, and exposure to the afternoon sun. Factors that determine the great softness and elegant structure of which this wine stands out. In the glass it is pale ruby red with garnet hues. The nose is broad, complex: ripe red fruit such as cherries and morello cherries in continuous evolution and intense floral hints of violet are added, hibiscus. On the palate it is vinous, soft and delicate with tannins that fully recall the fruity scents. Wine of excellent structure and persistence with a decisive finish, definitely elegant.
