This maison is one of the last wineries in the Champagne region of France to still be owned by the same family that founded it in the distant 1776.
While others bought grapes, Roederer has staked everything on working in the vineyard, buying the best vineyard plots, fully convinced that the quintessence of a great wine resided in the earth, and consequently traced the fate of the Maison. The Roederer winery boasts an ownership of almost 240 hectares, divided among the three best Champagne crus, located in the villages of Montagne de Reims, Côtes des Blancs, e Marne Valley, from which come the ideal grapes for its elegant and balanced wines.
CRISTAL 2012 it is the last vintage put on the market of what is the Champagne symbol of the Maison Roederer and one of the most famous Chamapagne in the world. Produced exclusively in great vintages, that is, only when the grapes from which it is produced are of excellent quality. Bubble produced from the union of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in the best vineyards owned by the company, its strength is its long aging on the lees: 6 years ( 72 months ) and more 8 months of rest from disgorgement are the time needed to see the birth of each new vintage. Champenoise method with an elegant and concentrated style that in the glass has a bright straw yellow color with light amber reflections, delicate and persistent perlage. The nose is broad with hints of candied fruit, citrus fruits, white flowers and puffs of hazelnut and almond. On the palate it is decisive but also elegant, with a pleasant soft and creamy sensation that accompanies the sip. The freshness is well present to balance and streamline the glass, making the tasting experience of this Cristal memorable, suggesting that it can also be enjoyed very long-lived.
