TERRE del BAROLO WINERY
Barolo docg Riserva 2010 "Rocche di Castiglione"
Before that company, Terre del Barolo is a house where hundreds of families together have made up a "large" one: each partner lives the earth, cultivate it, each with their own culture, history and habits. Prodigy cellar of Piedmont, in Castiglione Falletto the point of origin of Barolo, was born from an idea of Arnaldo Rivera in 1958 who made a miracle possible by gathering people's lives, small producers to make them become a great reality that preserves, and preserve, the magic of a unique territory like that of the Langhe. This avoided abandoning the countryside, of the hills and the consequent loss of identity, as well as economics, of these areas which are now the emblem of Italian wine production in the world. This "Cellar" extends for 650 hectares and over time has added properties even among the best vineyards of Barolo: 1994 acquires Crù Rocche di Castiglione, in 1999 Crù Boiolo in La Morra in the Rocche Annunziata area. Company that has made respect for traditions its way of being, whether it produces wines for daily drinking, whether it produces Baroli of the highest quality and maximum expression of the passion of the work done in the vineyard as in the cellar.
Barolo "Rocche di Castiglione" Riserva is Crù from one of the best vineyards in the company. Beautiful geographical mention, the Rocche di Castiglione are a long strip of land facing the "fortresses". Loose soil, leanest, with outcropping mother rock, therefore shallow, arid in summer, rich in limestone and sandstone marl. It is necessary to intervene after the harvest with fertilizers to restore the structure of the soil and allow it to enrich itself with water. It is one of the oldest vineyards that expresses all the wisdom of the most elegant and mineral Barolos. Intense ruby red in the glass; the nose is complex, it expresses itself with complex notes that vary between chocolate, truffle, vanilla, sour cherries and "woody" sensations. On the palate it is austere with present tannins that denote a great structure but still elegant and enveloping with a beautiful persistent mineral finish. Long aging wine, tasted young and "lively", impetuous while mature turns on deep and complex sensations. Great vintage.
