The. Agr. Rivella Serafino

Barbaresco Montestafano is a rarity: from the vineyards conducted as Nature asks and in the cellar where tradition and love for one's work reign. Very few hands have the honor of being able to process these bunches and the result is a great Barbaresco that expresses passion, elegance and perfection.

pairing: ideal with egg pasta and risotto with earthy seasonings, main courses of stewed or roasted meat, hard aged cheeses.

Description

Barbaresco docg Montestefano 2013

The. Agr. RIVELLA SERAFINO

Historic company that, like very many, started selling its own wines in bulk, putting them in demijohns… From 1967 Teobaldo, son of Serafino, he begins to bottle and sell what his own 2 acres of raw gave him. Produce 12000 total bottles divided between 8000 barbaresco and 4000 dolcetto. Family that has always been a supporter of respect for vines and vineyards: they have always accepted what nature gives every year, for better or for worse. No use of synthetic chemistry, neither in the plant nor in the cellar and no rush to put the products on the market. The only concession is the thinning on the plant by choosing the best bunches day by day.

The Barbaresco Montestefano is a highly sought after, and very rare, Barbaresco which takes its name from the homonymous Crù in Barbaresco , which is nothing but a portion of this hill: “That is, are the vineyards inherited from my father ". Basically a house with a vineyard around it. It could have grown larger, but at the same time he preferred to make wine what he did, his wife and a few co-workers can do. So it is, so it will be. At sight it shows an important dark garnet red color, while on the nose it “explodes” in a complex and intense bouquet, with hints of tobacco, leather, dried roses and oriental spices. On the palate it is austere and deep with well balanced tannins and perfectly integrated into the structure of the wine. Wine from one of the producers who made the history of the Barbaresco area: it is one of the rarest and most loved productions in the whole Langa.
