Cellar that, along with a few others, has changed the history of the Piedmontese and Italian wine world. Born in Barbaresco in 1859 by the founder Giovanni Gaja and since then it has always stood out for the "obsessive" search for quality. Piedmont and its Langhe, extraordinary land for the pedological and climatic characteristics that make the cultivation of grapes optimal and land that has forged men and farmers dedicated to the cultivation of vines and their grapes. Angelo, son of the founder, he had the merit of renewing his father's ideas, introducing over the years 60 new production settings: has decided to lower the yield per hectare of the plants to obtain an even higher quality of the grapes; a more targeted and controlled use of woods starting from returning to using the large barrel more; introduced the use of very long corks because he understood that, thanks to them, their wines would have had a better yield over time. Today again, in the wake of tradition, the whole Gaja family is involved in consolidating and developing that idea of ​​the company and wines that Angelo Gaja has built in recent decades: they all work in the cellar, from children to grandchildren…generations united in carrying on with strength and respect, one of the most famous wineries in the world synonymous with history and quality.

Barbaresco docg it is made from Nebbiolo grapes, in purity, from bunches selected one by one. They come from 14 vineyards scattered in the municipality of Barbaresco with height between 250 ed i 330 meters and very low yields per hectare. Fermentation takes place in steel and refinement requires 6 months of barrique and others 18 months in large barrels according to the Langhe tradition. In the glass it has an intense ruby ​​red color with magnificent garnet reflections and a very broad nose, you can perfectly perceive the care and passion of this family in making their grapes wine. Floral and with hints of wild berries, licorice, cocoa and spicy puffs of cloves and cinnamon. On the palate it is majestic, regal with a velvety and deep drink that evolves sip by sip. Absolutely to try at least once.
