The. CANTINA GIRLAN
The first time the word GIRLAN / Cornaiano is mentioned is the distant 1085: is the name of the ancient wine village whose vineyards extend to an altitude between 250 ed i 550 meters. At the beginning, in 1923, the winemakers who joined together to found this winery were 23. Today they have become 200 and are located on 220 hectares and in this way, this "extended family" owns and vinifies the best vineyards of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. To the north, the Alps protect these predominantly sandy and clayey and mineral-rich soils, creating the ideal climatic conditions for growing vines. The opening towards the wide Val d’Adige to the south favors the favorable influence of the Mediterranean climate. The strong temperature variations between day and night, especially in the fall, instead they give the wine a marked and elegant aroma and great shelf life. Mazzon, Cornaiano, Gschleier, Appiano Monte and Monticolo are the areas from which their fantastic grapes come: the winemaker is first of all a winemaker.
The name “448 s.l.m.” indicates the geographical position of the historic farm of the Girlan Winery. In this wine the historical vines of our production area are grouped. who, the soils are rich in minerals, formed from ice age sediments. It comes from a blend of Chardonnay grapes, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon. A splendid mix that best expresses the typicality of South Tyrolean white wines: freshness and balance, but also delicate aroma and perfume. The glass is bright straw yellow and the nose expresses notes of ripe white fruit such as peach, apricot with a floral finish. On the palate it is dry, fine, Elegant, not at all demanding. A wine to always drink well, from every day.
